Frequently Asked Questions

New to print files? These answers explain how sizing, quality, and formats work — without design jargon.

Print quality is determined by pixels, not inches. 300 DPI is the professional standard for sharp prints. If your image has enough pixels to print at a given size at 300 DPI, we call it print-ready.

Many images are tagged at 72 DPI, which makes them appear large in inches. In reality, pixel dimensions decide how big an image can print sharply. We always show the true maximum print size at 300 DPI.

Ratios describe the shape of the image, not the size. We crop to the selected ratio and export at the largest possible pixel size, tagged at 300 DPI. This lets one file support multiple print sizes.

ISO refers to standard print sizes like A5, A4, A3, A2, and A1. All A sizes share the same proportions. We export the largest A size your image supports at 300 DPI. Smaller A sizes are automatically covered.

If an image is print-ready at A3, it’s also suitable for A4 and A5. We highlight the largest supported size so you can sell with confidence without unnecessary complexity.

Enhanced files have been upscaled to cover larger print sizes. Upscaling adds pixels but cannot add true detail. Results usually look great at normal viewing distance but may appear softer up close. We never upscale automatically — it’s always your choice.

Yes. Many sellers include enhanced files for larger sizes. We clearly label what’s native and what’s enhanced so you can be transparent with buyers.

Cropping removes pixels. Fewer pixels means a smaller maximum print size. That’s why adjusting a crop can change which sizes are print-ready.

No. Your original upload is stored untouched. All previews and exports are generated from it safely in the background.

We use your chosen base filename and automatically append the format and pixel dimensions. Example: my-artwork__ratio_4x5__3744x4680.jpg

Originals and previews stay until you delete the project. ZIP downloads may expire after a set period to save storage. You can delete projects at any time.

Most Etsy print listings use a small set of standard ratios (2:3, 3:4, 4:5, 11×14) and ISO A-sizes. These ratios allow buyers to print multiple sizes from the same file without distortion. We export files using these standards so they work across Etsy, Shopify, and other marketplaces.

For example: The 2:3 ratio file can be printed as:

  • 4 × 6 inches
  • 8 × 12 inches
  • 12 × 18 inches
  • 16 × 24 inches
  • 20 × 30 inches
